Young and upcoming actress Meghna Raj debuted as heroine in last year’s ‘Kaadhal Solla Vandhaen’. The film, unfortunately, didn’t create any huge flutter at the box-office. The actress, whose mother played Vijayakanth’s heroine in the musical hit ‘Vaidehi Kaathirundhaal’ in the mid-eighties, wasn’t going to give up and is trying her best to find a foothold in Kollywood.
She was to make her debut in the film ‘Krishnaleelai’ opposite Jeevan last year. The film, directed by Selvan, had been wrapped up long back but has been lying in cold storage for a variety of reasons. The bubbly Meghna appears to be hard hit by the film not hitting the screens in time and even after almost an year of wrapping up the shooting of the film.
“I’m hugely upset at the delay in the release of the film Krishnaleelai. Like me, many have worked hard to ensure that the film turns out to be a good product. As and when it releases, I’m sure it would do well and become a super-hit,” said Meghna. Selvan had earlier announced his plan to fast before the residence of the producer (Kavithalaaya) but was restrained from doing so by the elders in the industry.
“The film should soon see the light of the day as it means different things to different people associated with the making of the film. Almost all the technicians are expecting a big break from the film. It was to be my first film and is indeed the first film for Selvan, who is likely to get a few more offers only if the film releases at the earliest,” concludes Meghna, agony tangible in her voice.
Meanwhile, she is also awaiting the release of ‘Uyarthiru 420’ in which she has paired up opposite lyricist Snehan in his first-ever attempt at playing hero!
