Bangalore girl Lakshmi Rai has a strong presence in the industry. She has done films in all four languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. After Ajith’s Mankatha and playing Priya in Kanchana, she has another big release in Vikram’s Thaandavam.
In Tollywood she has bagged a project with well-known director Kodi Ramakrishna. He is best known for his Arundhati , that saw Anushka Shetty’s career soaring high. Excited to work with Kodi, Lakshmi quips, “He has made such landmark movies and his women characters have author backed roles.” In Tamil, she has also been roped in for Kanchana part 2. The film will be Raghava Lawrence’s sequel to his much successful Muni and Kanchana. The director/choreographer had promised to give Lakshmi a role in the sequel and he did as promised. With so many projects at hand Lakshmi has found her own mantra to work things out. She says “Do your best and accept what follows that’s my policy. I’m a very secure person despite working in a highly competitive industry.” The actress is keenly looking forward to Thaandavam slated for a September 28th release. She plays a very crucial role in the A.L Vijay directorial that features Vikram, Jagapati Babu, Amy Jackson and Arundhati heroine Anushka Shetty too.For the moment Lakshmi is firm footed in both Tamil and Telugu.
