Kollywood directors praise Mani Ratnam

Kollywood directors Balumahendra, K. Bhagyaraj, Vasanth, R.K. Selvamani, Saimohan, C. Ranganathan, Senthilnathan, Shanmugasundaram, E.Ramadoss, Santhanabarathy, Lingusamy, Brindadas, Ezhil, Balaji Sakthivel, SP. Jananathan,Sri. Rajakumaran, Vikraman and Sibichandran, belonging to the Directors’ Union, met Mani Ratnam at his office to congratulate him on being conferred the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award on Monday.

They presented a bouquet to Mani and exchanged pleasantries with him.

At the 67th Venice Film Festival held recently, noted director Mani Ratnam was honoured with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. He was presented with a specially engraved Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso timepiece bearing the Mostra’s commemorative seal. Incidentally, he is the first Indian filmmaker to have received the coveted award.
