Kamal-Rajini overwhelmed by emotions

They are the Stalwarts of Tamil cinema at present. Both are very different actors but it’s their friendship which has been the uniting factor and which has surprised many as the word ‘friendship’ has no meaning in the cut-throat world of film-industry. Still, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan retain their friendship and their concern for each other in times of emergency.

Kamal Haasan was reportedly very upset about Rajini’s ill-health and felt even more perturbed when he visited the SRMC Hospital, Porur to meet Rajini but was restrained by the star’s family and the doctors from meeting Rajini in person. Kamal is said to have ‘vented’ his disappointment to Latha Rajinikanth for ‘not being allowed to meet Rajini’.

When Rajini was told about Kamal’s visit, he asked his family members to call Kamal for the second time during when the two stars met each other. Reports say that tears welled up in the eyes of both the stars and both became ‘too emotional’ to speak for a few moments.

The meeting is said to have taken place just a day or two prior to Rajini’s departure for Singapore. Kamal even volunteered to accompany Rajini all the way to Singapore but Rajini declined the offer saying his family was there to take care of himself. Superstar is said to have thanked Kamal for his offer. Those who were nearby were also overwhelmed by the emotional bonding between the two huge stars, it is reported.

In a lighter vein, Kamal told Rajini that he considered ‘Rana’ as his competition and assured the latte that he would very soon start to shoot for the film!
