Kamal Haasan to be honoured in Delhi Film Festival

Renowed actor ‘Padma Shri’ Kamal Haasan Kamal Hassan has contributed a lot to the Indian cinema, acted in many South Indian language films as well as Hindi films.
According to reports, the veteran actor will be honoured in Delhi soon. A 3-day film festival titled ‘Retrospective of Kamal Haasan Films’ has been organized in New Delhi from July 2nd till July 4th. Some of the popular films of the actor will be screened there.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni inaugurates the festival at Siri Fort Auditorium and the festival will open with the screening of Kamal’s Hindi film ‘Hey Ram’.
In the course of the festival, his Tamil films namely ‘Anbe Sivam’, ‘Virumaandy’, ‘Devar Magan’, ‘Dasavatharam’ and ‘Nayagan’ and one Telugu film ‘Sagar Sangamam’ will be screened.
The Padma Shri award winner made his debut in film as a child artiste at the age of 4 in the Tamil movie ‘Kalathur Kannamma’. The film was released in 12th August 1959 and he won the Best Child Artist for the film and since then he has acted in over two hundred Indian films. Kamal Haasan has acted in several various character roles winning four Indian National Film Awards for his critically acclaimed acting.
The actor holds the record for winning nineteen Film-fare Awards in five languages and he requested not to consider him for further awards.
