Kabilan Vairamuthu weds Ramya

Vairamuthu's son Kabilan tie the knot with Ramya

Kavignar Vairamuthu’s second son Kabilan Vairamuthu got married to M. Ramya, daughter of district magistrate Mayandi and Amrutha.

The marriage was presided over by the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at Anna Arivalayam on Sunday, August 5. The wedding event was attended by personalities from both politics and film world. Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Deputy CM MK Stalin, Super star Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, AR Rahman and many others participated.

Our association is that of an elder brother and younger brother. The marriage has once again reaffirmed our friendship. No one can separate us,” the Chief Minister said in his speech.

He had a word of praise for the bridegroom Kabilan, who has also published poetry collection. He then quoted a poem.

In his usual style, Lyricist Vairamuthu gave a lengthy speech about marriage and how to lead the life after marriage. Reacting to this, Karunanidhi said that Vairamuthu’s narration of his poetic verses was always stiff and his wish for the newlyweds sounded as if he were rebuking them. He remarked that this should’ve been done at home but appreciated Vairamuthu for making it public so that others will also have a chance to follow it.
