Illayaraja meets Commissioner on royalty issue


Maestro Illayaraja met the Chennai Police commissioner to complaint over a prevailing royalty issues to his songs. He was very annoyed over this on the issue.

Illayaraja told the media that Echo, an audio company, has not been paying him royalty for the past twenty five years. But the company was trying to sell his work to an international company for a few millions.

He concluded that Tamil Nadu Cine Producers Council also assured to help him in this regard, and he took this initiative on behalf of other musicians who might face similar problems.

Illayaraja requested the police commissioner of Chennai, T Rajendran, to take necessary action. Producer Council secretary, Siva Sakthi Pandian and Amma Creations’ T.Siva were present with the maestro.
