Ibrahim Rowther

Ibrahim Rowther, once a popular film-producer and a close friend of Vijayakanth, had made successive films such as Uzhavan Magan, Pulan Visaaranai, Captain Prabhakaran and Poondhotta Kaavalkaran. After a long hiatus, he made Pulan Visaaranai II a few years back but the film hasn’t yet seen the light of the day.

After few more years down the line, Rowther has again started making a film titled as Puriyadha Aanandham Pudhidhaga Aarambam . The film stars Krrish, popular playback singer and husband of actress Sangeetha, in the lead role thereby marking the soft-spoken singer’s debut as hero in Tamil films.

Srishti Dange, a popular Mumbai model, makes her debut as heroine in Tamil films with Puriyadha Aanandham Pudhidhaga Aarambam. Vijay Babu, newcomers Janaki, Haaris Moosa and Nitish and several others are part of the cast of the film which is cinematographed by Senthil Maran.

A.R. Raihana, elder sister of music wizard A.R. Rahman and mother of music director G.V. Prakash Kumar, scores the film’s music. Thampi Saiyyad Ibrahim is directing the film and has also penned the film’s story, screenplay and dialogues. The film’s shoot had been held in Madurai, Tenkasi, Kutralam and other scenic locations down South. Rowther is planning to release the film in May.

Speaking about his film, Saiyyad says “The backdrop of the script is a love-story set in Madurai, known for its violent incidents. I have attempted to narrate the inability, prevalent in many love affairs, in a practical manner. Most of us feel that lust is the bud on which the flower of love blossoms; however, I have said that lust and love are two different sides of a coin!”
