Actress Kavya Madhavan was last seen in Tamil films opposite Prasanna in the comic caper ‘Saadhu Mirandaal’. The pretty actress, who got married in the year 2009 to NRI Vishal Chandra, developed ‘irreconcilable difference’ with the latter within an year of her marriage, culminating in her separation from him last year.
Making a comeback to acting in films, Kavya has managed to bag prestigious projects like ‘Christian Brothers’ and ‘China Town’ besides a solitary Tamil film titled ‘Thambidurai’. Talking about her comeback effort, Kavya strongly feels that she would love to do more heroine-oriented characters in films which provide her scope to display her acting talents.
“We actresses have always loved to portray powerful, women-centric roles in films. It’s a fact that we aren’t getting many of such offers. I was away from films only for a few months and have come back to where I belong to. I feel heroines try mostly to act in Tamil and Telugu films which dole out films with challenging scripts from time to time.
“Tamil films are entirely different where prominence is given to daring and novel efforts by the film-makers. Though I’m from Kerala, I attach lot of significance to Tamil films. I find it quite easy to connect with the Tamil audience, who shower all the actresses with their unlimited love and affection,” notes Kavya.
