Bollywood starlet Huma Quresh, who never shied away from appearing in skimpily clad costumes for magazine photo-shoots, reportedly plays superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘lover’ in the flashback mode sequences in Rajini’s upcoming film Kaala directed by Pa. Ranjith. The film, as of now, is slated to release worldwide on 27th April.
Easwari Rao is paired up opposite the ‘older’ Rajini in the film which shows Rajini with a salt-and-pepper beard and an almost black hair in his role of a Tamil don in the film set against the backdrop of the Tamil-infested Dharavi in Mumbai, Asia’s largest slum. Bollywood’s Nana Patekar, Marathi actress Anjali Patil, Samuthirakani, Huma Qureshi, Sayaji Shinde, Ravi Kale and Sakshi Aggarwal for the long cast in the film.
31-year old Huma, a History graduate from Delhi’s Gargi College, had gone on record about the love and affection showered on her by Rajini during the film’s shoot. “He took good care of me and even served me home-made food from his residence,” she said and added that she was ‘bowled over’ by Rajini’s simplicity despite his stardom.
“I have always loved Tamil culture and tradition and am hoping to have a long stint in South Indian films post the release of Kaala,” says Huma, who made a late entry in Bollywood with the 2012 film Gangs of Wasseypur. “I’m in talks with a few Tamil and Telugu film-makers,” reveals Huma, who is hopeful of finding a permanent place in the hearts of South Indian audiences.
