Readers are aware that young and promising music director G.V. Prakash Kumar and playback singer Saindhavi are madly in love with each other and are likely to get married early next year. GVP recently achieved the feat of scoring music for 25 films just days prior to his 25th birthday. His 25th film would be the Vikram-Anushka starrer Thaandavam which is to release in a few weeks’ time.
In a recent interview, GVP spoke about many issues that are close to his heart and traced his journey in Kollywood which commenced with the Ajith-Trisha starrer Kireedom a few years back. GVP spoke about his favourite music and matters relating to his equation with Saindhavi. “Though she is close to my heart, I won’t spare her if she commits a mistake during recording of a song,” said GVP.
“When I’m composing and at the recording studios, I am just like any other music director and won’t tolerate mistakes in composition and singing,” says GVP who also added that he loved the music of Gibran in the national award-winning Vaagai Sooda Vaa directed by Gibran. He confessed that he sang in Aadukalam purely by accident and said he never wanted to pursue a career in playback singing.
GVP told that his favourite dish was biryani and said that he loves and relishes all kinds of food items. His favourite actors are Karthi, Vikram and Dhanush and directors are A.L. Vijay and Vetrimaran. Ultimately, he added that “Each of them are unique in their own ways; as and when I decide to play hero in films, I’d only settle to star opposite a Bollywood heroine!”
