Gayathri Raghuram, the pretty actress-turned-dance choreographer, would soon be turning a director in Tamil films. Daughter of popular dance choreographer Raghuram, Gayathri debuted as an actress in Tamil films way back in the nineties with a film titled Charlie Chaplin opposite Prabhudeva.
After starring in a few films, the actress got married and a couple of years later, filed for divorce. Not used to stay away from the glamour world of films, she has now become a dance choreographer and has been teaching dance movements to leading heroes and heroines of Tamil and Telugu films.
Gayathri appears to be in a mood to try something different and is planning to become a director soon. She might soon begin her directorial venture and has already started the preparatory work in connection with that. The pretty ex-actress confirms it by saying, “It has been my dream for the past many years to make a movie.”
“In fact, the story was ready with me for a long time now. I even studied a course abroad on how to direct films and it helped a lot in fine-tuning the script. I am now busy with finalizing the screenplay,” says Gayathri and adds that she would be making a formal announcement after finalizing the cast and technicians. “I’m mighty thrilled about the film,” she confesses.
Gayathri insists that she would continue to choreograph songs in films even after turning a director. “Dance is my passion and profession and I can’t live without it,” she says with a smile.
