Gautham Menon to direct Jeeva before making Vijays film

Jeeva Gautham Menon

Ace director Gautham Menon is busy as ever. The director is getting lots of appreciation as producer for ‘Veppam’, produced by his production house Photon Kathaas and directed by Anjana, one of his erstwhile assistant-directors. The film is already into its 4th week and is widely predicted by trade circles that it might end up as a ‘hit’ film.

Menon has some hot projects up his sleeve. A fortnight back, the papers were full of advertisements of Menon’s film starring Vijay in the lead and titled “Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru”. In the advertisement, though, it was clearly mentioned that the film would be going to the floors only in 2012. The thriller film, it is learnt, is likely to be shot mostly in the U.S.

Vijay is presently busy with his upcoming film ‘Velayudham’ directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja. The film is likely to be released in a month’s time now. He is also simultaneously shooting for Shankar’s ‘Nanban’, a multi-starrer, which is scheduled for a Deepavali release. As such, even if he would want to, Vijay may not be able to commit himself to starring in Menon’s film at this juncture.

In the meantime, Menon has reportedly decided that he would first complete a film with Jeeva in the lead. The film, which he plans as a short-term project, has been titled tentative as ‘Nithya’. Jeeva, who is having the best time of his career this year, has just had his ‘Rowthiram’ hitting the screens last week and is all set to act as a ‘superhero’ in Mysskin’s ‘Mugamoodi’.

He would either be starring in Menon’s film simultaneously or complete ‘Mugamoodi’ as soon as possible to make himself available for Menon’s ‘Nithya’.
