S.S. Rajamouli comes across as refreshingly humble amid the many directors in Kollywood and Tollywood who tend to instill in themselves a ‘false air of authority’ if one or a couple of films of them manage to do well at the box-office. Despite the fact that he happens to be one of the most successful directors in Tollywood, SSR has his feet firmly planted on the ground.
SSR’s latest directorial venture Naan Ee (shot and released simultaneously in Telugu as Eega) has been a phenomenal hit and has exceeded the expectations of all concerned including the distributors, the exhibitors and the movie-goers. The way he had conceived an youth ‘reincarnating’ as a house-fly and taking revenge on the man who killed him has found a receptive audience in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Not the one to rest on his laurels, SSR is said to have started work on his next film, the details of which would be released to the press officially only after he finalizes the script and the cast of the film. In between, SSR found time to visist the Gandhi Medical College & Hospital in Hyderabad and do something which isn’t done by many.
Tweeting on his Twitter page, SSR has said, “I recent visited the Gandhi Medical College & Hospital in Hyderbad and signed the relevant documents to ensure that all the organs in my body are used up fruitfully after my demise. I’m extremely happy that even after I had left this world, my organs would continue to function in the bodies of as many as eight individuals!”
SSR’s organ donation is the latest hot topic in Tollywood circles.
