Cinematographer-turned-director Jeevan has made a fervent appeal to producer-actor Prakashraj to help him resurrect his career by releasing ‘Mayilu’, which is the latter’s home production. Jeevan used the audio-launch of FCS Creations’ Konjam Veyyil Konjam Mazhai (KVKM) to make the request to the recently-married actor, last seen in ‘Payanam’ and in the latest Simbu-Bharath starrer ‘Vaanam’.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeevan said that the terms ‘small’ and ‘big’ producers depend on how quickly the producers are able to finish and release their films. “By this yardstick, I feel Chandrasekar (producer of KVKM) is a big producer. Likewise, actor Prakashraj is also a big producer. For some reasons, though, he doesn’t seem to evince interest in releasing ‘Mayilu’, produced by him and directed by me.
“Mayilu was completed more than three years back; it has mesmerizing musical score by ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja, which is a great plus for the film. In fact, I completed the film in very short time and didn’t exceed the stipulated budget at all. Though Prakashraj’s Vellithirai, Abhiyum Naanum, Inidhu Inidhu & Payanam have released since then, Mayilu has lagged behind for no fault of its own.
“Only when the film releases and earns widespread appreciation, would I get a good name and recognition from the media and the public. My whole life hinges on the release of the film, for which Prakashraj doesn’t appear to be taking any initiative at all. Each passing day has been a hell for me and will remain so till the film releases. Prakash Raj not only acting as a Villain in reel life but in real life too,” said Jeevan.
Sivasakthi Pandian, secretary of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), who took the mike after Jeevan, assured him that the matter would be sorted out by the Council by way of mediatory talks.
