The crew of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 2.0 was shocked on Saturday when a few sequences/clippings of the film, which is slated to release worldwide next January, were released on the Net by some miscreants.
Directed by Shankar and starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and Sudanshu Pandey in the lead, 2.0 is the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 super-hit film Enthiran: The Robot which was also directed by Shankar. Rajini and Shankar are coming together for the third time in 2.0 as they had also made Rajini’s colossal hit film Sivaji: The Boss in the past.
Shoot of 2.0 commenced late in 2015 and much to the disappointment of millions of fans of Rajini, the crew announced that the film would be releasing only in 2018. A few still photographs of the film were what the fans got to see last year. In the latest sequences which were leaked on the Net, Rajini and Amy Jackson figure prominently in what appears to be an unedited version of the film.
The crew said it would inquire into the circumstances behind the leakage of the clipping. The post-production work of the film, including adding/editing of computer-generated graphics, is going on at present. The film may release in 11,000 halls the world over, thus setting a new Indian record for maximum number of halls.
