S.T.Tamil Arasan, a practising advocate who has starred in a few films, was arrested by the police today near Madhurantakam for his alleged involvement in the murder of a woman hailing from the same locality.

‘Mandapam’ is the film in which he has acted; he is also said to be doing sundry roles in few more movies which are under production. Hailing from Chennai’s Saligramam area, Tamil Arasan has been practising as an advocate for the past few years. Kavitha (45), hailing from Chennai’s Triplicane locality and who came to him for a particular case, reportedly became ‘close’ to him over the past few months.

Tamil Arasan, Kavitha and another woman Alamelu (said to be a small-time actress) are said to have travelled by car up to Madurantakam. Later in the day, Kavitha’s body was recovered from the area by the police who said that the body bore knife-stabs all over it. Moments prior to her death, Kavitha reportedly told those near her that it was ‘Tamil Arasan’ who was responsible for her death.

On this basis, the Madurantakam police have arrested Tamil Arasan and further investigations are on in the case.
