Actor-cum-magician Alex, passed away today(May 1, 2011) at Apollo Hospital, Chennai after a brief illness. Alex(52), is survived by his wife and two daughters. The actor had been suffering from intestinal disorder for some time and had been in the hospital for a week’s time.

“His condition worsened a couple of days ago and he breathed his last at 4:30 PM today”, a family relative said.

Alex was introduced to Tamil films with ‘Valli’ which was produced by Tamil superstar Rajnikanth in 1997. He has acted in around 100 films and donned Villain and character roles. Some of his well known films in which he made a mark as an actor included “Mita Mirasu” with another popular lead actor Sathyaraj, “Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi” starring Simran, in which he won the Best Character Actor Award from Tamil Nadu Government.

Alex, also an established magician had been enthralling audiences with many different shows for a long time now.

Some of his noteworthy achievements are:

The Tamil Nadu Government had honoured him with the prestigious “Kalaimamani” Award.

His non-stop magic show for 24-hours last year had earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. He also had done a similar feat in front of 59,276 children on a single day to enter the Limca Book of records.

He in tune with his Guinness record, received the Chevalier award recently.

He was also a mind reader and his 12-hour `mind reading’ act won him a place in the Limca Book of Records.

    Dai Arvind nee undhae moodu…U might hav came to know his talents now but i know & also whole TN people know his Talents . If dont know about him better use a word as “I”instead using as “We”.
