On October 29, appearing at a public event, where S P Muthuraman, a director with whom he has worked in more than 25 films, was honoured, for the first time after his return from Singapore, a rejuvenated and healthy looking Superstar Rajinikanth said he was “completely cured and fit” after his illness, which shook fans across the globe.
Rajinikanth also announced that he has no plans of retiring from films any time soon. “As a hero my only talent is my speed on screen,” he said, paused, and in his inimitable style he continued, “And as long as I have that speed I promise I will keep on acting.”
He added, “I am not a great actor like Kamal Haasan or the Late Sivaji Ganesan. My strength is my speed and vigour. As long as I have the energy and strength, I will continue acting in films,” remarked Superstar reacting to an appeal made by several of his mentors including K. Balachander and Panchu Arunachalam that he should continue acting.
