Four short films, each of 12-minute duration, was launched at the Four Frames Theatre in Chennai at the AIDS Jaago programme. The four films were: Mira Nair-directed Migration, Farhan Akthar’s Positive, Santosh Sivan-directed Prarambha and Vishal Bharadwaj’s Blood Brother. All the four films deal with AIDS affected persons, sex workers and transgender.
Santhosh Sivan originally shot ‘Prarambha’ in Kannada. The version was later dubbed in Tamil and given the title Vazhkai Mukkiyam – Vizhithidu. Saroja Devi and Prabhu Deva had played important roles in the short film.
13-minutes film Vazhkai Mukkiyam – Vizhithidu will be screened abroad in countries like Canada and USA and will also be screened in Tamil Nadu theaters before a film begins.
