RCom (Reliance Communications) has just announced a new INR 299 rental plan to take on Jio. The news was given on Twitter by the company. The tweet does not reveal much about the plan except that it would offer unlimited texts, unlimited calls and unlimited data. There are chances that this plan is valid only for postpaid users.
The move aims to take a direct shot at Jio that has spurred a tariff war by launching cheap data and free calls in the telecom market.
Reliance Communications is run by Anil Ambani, the younger brother of Mukesh Ambani. The company recently reported a loss of INR 948 crore for the Q4, 2017, mainly due to the free calls and data provided by Jio.
That said, RCom recently also came up with an INR 147 data plan that offers 1 GB data per day for 28 days. There is also a “Rozana offer” run by the company that provides 1 GB data per day along with 30 minutes of talktime every day to any network at INR 193. Like the Jio sachet packs, the company too has a data plan for INR 25 which will get users 1 GB data for a day.
