Yu Televentures just came up with a new 4G smartphone for all in India. The handset, dubbed Yu Yunique, is priced at INR 4,999. However, users can also buy the handset with two extra different-colored back covers for INR 5,499.
The Yu Yunique boasts of a 4.7-inch HD display dishing out 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 1.2 GHz 64-bit Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 306 GPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt storage and external memory expandable up to 32 GB. It has an 8 MP primary camera with LED flash and a secondary 2 MP lens at the front.
The new Yu Yunique is backed by a non-removable 2000 mAh battery and runs on stock Android v5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box with support for Cyanogen OS 12.1.
During the launch of the device, Rahul Sharma, founder of YU Televentures, said that India is on the tipping point of a digital revolution and the company expects 4G to push internet usage in the country to an unprecedented level. The rising needs of the consumers these days – the need of smartphones with 24X7 data connectivity and multi-tasking capabilities urged Yu to bring Yunique.
