Self-styled Godman Nithyananda whose image has been tarnished by his exposure in alleged ‘sexual’ scenes with actress Ranjitha by Sun TV, has now filed a case against the channel and Nakeeran Tamil magazine, almost more than a year after the incident.
In March 3, 2010 Nithyananda’s ‘sex’ video had been widely telecast, and subsequently he was arrested in Himachal Pradesh.
For the first time, after the incident, Nithyananda and Ranjitha came together at a press conference in Chennai on Wednesday, July 13.
Nithyananda accused Sun TV and Nakeeran of extortion and land grabbing. Nithyananda also said that the video images were morphed by Sun TV, and that the bedroom shown in the clip is not his.
But he was flooded by a number of questions by the media men – why did he take one year to come up with the charges, being the main one. He replied that he was scared for his and his devotees’ lives.
It is widely assumed that since Dhayanidhi Maran is out of power, and DMK is on the receiving end, and also because the state government is changed, it is a different situation now, and reportedly Nithyananda is trying to go on a ‘damage control’ mode by coming into the limelight again.
