Enge En Idhayam – 4/5
A definite rap influence, done tastefully though, a lot of pan effects keep the song interesting juggling it around. The cutest track on our play list, we really love to whistle this one.
Enge, En Idhayam engae
Enge, nan thaedi parpen
Anbe, nee kondu sendrai
Prasanthinihas has played an effectively crisp part in this one.
This one will be your good friend for a time and if it does don’t forget to comment below and tell us it did.
Oru Paaravai… 3/5
Good attempt! The flute part was quite unexpected; a close listen reveals the interplay between 2 flutes. Good bass lines are the driving force behind this one. It’s a sensitive composition in a way. A late surprise was the use of the western flute. Well, the instrumentation is quite clichéd flutes, violins and a soft number. The interludes really kick in energy to the song, where the gentle voice has been contrasted well.
Peppiest song until now it has a Harris influence throughout, a dance track in itself. Not quite impressive at a comparative look.
This one has been crafted keeping in mind the western ballad song form. A Simple accompaniment leads you through. Fantabulous intro melody will sweep you away, somehow folks, did not manage to grab our attention. We were left with a feeling that it was really a short song and needed more time to build upon.
Ah Haa 3/5
This one is a sweet one Ah Haa. The will make the college going kids pickup their guitars for sure. The vocals have been good throughout, another song with the male vocalist leading the game, but we won’t complain he has done it in style nevertheless, cheers to Krish.
Not to miss this one, you know why because its Chinmaye here, finally there is a song with a ‘little’ dose of classical mridangam playing and ghatam, sadly it’s just a brief moment. The composer has used many rhythmic changes in this one, keeping it really spicy. You will love it although it has shades of the 90’s.
Enge En Idhayam also had definite rap influences it was handled well, but this one sounds more like an item number for the stripper to dance. Though Rahul Nambiar’s voice is pronouncing enough to make the music sit on the backseat , over all Cassanova disappoints!
Vijay Ebenezer has lapped up on the modern trendy sounds; well his strength seems to be the melodies ballads though. Carnatic music has also crept on certain occasions. An album with a great opening track, it surely will make you come back for another listen.
