Discounting reports that the DMK may ally with the ruling EPS-led faction of the AIADMK, DMK’s working president M.K. Stalin has said that DMK would never ally with the corrupt Edapadi Palaniswami-led Govt. in the State even if the Sun chose to rise from the West instated of from the East.
Taking part in a party meeting in Mogappair on Chennai’s outskirts on Saturday to observe his father and DMK president M. Karunanidhi’s 94th birthday celebrations, Stalin blamed the ruling faction of not bothering about people’s welfare but bothering only about its survival in office.
“People have been protesting in various places for many demands but the State Govt. doesn’t seem to have taken note of it. We have to wait for a few more months to bring about a change in the State’s administration. On its part, the DMK never wasted a single opportunity in raising people’s issues on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.
“DMK would only ally with those party or parties which want to serve the people. DMK would come out from the ashes like Phoenix if its growth is suppressed. Even if the Sun chose to rise from the West instead of South, we won’t ally with the corrupt EPS-led AIADMK faction. We would continue to ally with those who fight for people’s rights,” Stalin concluded.
