Former Tamil Nadu chief-minister O. Panneerselvam has told the media to wait for 2-3 days for the ‘good news’ – which they had been eagerly awaiting – to emerge.
Speaking to newsmen at Chennai Airport yesterday evening, OPS responded to queries from scribes. Obviously, most of the questions were about the on-going merger talks between the factions led by OPS and the incumbent chief-minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).
Responding to newsmen’s request to respond to EPS’ assertion that the (merger) talks were heading in the right direction, OPS nodded in affirmation. “Yes, of course, the talks are going on as planned and in the right direction. May be, by tomorrow or the day after, the good news that all of you had been expecting may emerge,” he said.
When another scribe asked him how he could talk of merging with the EPS faction after complaining about the Govt.’s functioning, OPS said that the details about it would be revealed in a comprehensive which might be released once the merger talks are finalized. “As I assured already, we would never trigger the downfall of this regime,” OPS asserted.
