Tamil Nadu Milk & Dairy Development Minister Rajenthira Balaji has said that actor Kamal Haasan had no locus standi to criticize the functioning of the Edapadi K. Palaniswami-led Govt. in the State.
Kamal had been criticizing the Govt. for the past many days and didn’t even take a day off on the country’s 70th Independence Day celebrations yesterday. In reply to Kamal’s tweets, the Minister has said tha Kamal has no moral right or responsibility to criticize the Govt. led ably by Edapadi Palaniswami.
Training his guns on the chief-minister, Kamal tweeted yesterday wondering why chief-minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami wasn’t tendering his resignation for the various corrupt activities indulged by his Ministers and others under his control. Kamal had also asked why no political party and/or individual had not sought the immediate resignation of the chief-minister.
“It is not good for Kamal to clash with us for gaining cheap publicity,” Balaji said. “Kamal was never known for self-discipline; as such, he has no moral right whatsoever to criticize the Govt. No communal clash took place in the State in recent times,” he observed and asked Kamal not to make ‘general complaints instead of making specific complaints.
“Kamal hadn’t been in best of terms with AIADMK right from the day his Vishwaroopam faced issues in releasing in theatres,” Balaji said and added that Kamal attending the jubilee celebrations of DMK organ ‘Murasoli’ had proved beyond doubt that he had only been airing the DMK’s opinion. He also dared Kamal to prove his corruption charges instead of making blind allegations of corruption.
