Union Road Transport & Shipping Minister Pon Radhakrishnan said that he was happy to note that Tamil Nadu ranked second in the country when it came to registering industrial growth and having a vibrant economy.
Radhakrishnan was speaking at the 2-day ‘Global Investors’ Meet’ being held in Chennai from 09-10 September at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam which is attended by more than 1,000 foreign investors. Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa formally inaugurated the Meet in the morning by delivering an inspiring inaugural address.
“With a population of 125 crores, India’s economy has been proceeding vibrantly and in the right direction. I’m happy to note that Tamil Nadu has contributed significantly to the country’s economy by ranking 2nd in the country among economically stronger States. It is a significant achievement that Tamil Nadu’s growth has been along the path of progress by the rest of the world,” he said and assured the State of all possible help by the Centre in its endeavours for industrial growth.
