Samantha in an interview sometime back mentioned that she never planned to be an actress. Well what can you say for most of us planning is a guide to a better life and for some plans go wrong. But why worry when you find yourself elevated to heights you never thought you would be part of. We recently had a chat with the cherubic Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She reveals why she is so content working in Kollywood, and her priority, read on to know more.
Hi Samantha, you know everyone is buzzing about the cutest sensation in southern industry and now that we have met you we know who they were precisely talking about.
Oh, so sweet of you to mention that, thank you. If you ask me, people have a change in taste every Friday.
Haha, Dookudu in 2011 was a beautiful effort, and look here you are in 2012 fully loaded for a great year ahead. Actually we have lost count of the number of movies you are currently part of, would you like to mention them once for you fans.
To be candid, I never chose these films, they just came to me. When I debuted here, I never imagined that I could be doing such movies in a short span of time.
Right now there are eight films that are planned for release this year. In Tamil there is Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Mani sir’s Kadal. In Telugu there are many more.Autonagar Surya,Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, an Untitled Nandini Reddy Project,Yevadu and yes the NEP’s Telugu version Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu. I am so thrilled. I am lucky to get different roles in all of the movies.
Sounds good, we heard your bilingual movie Naan Ee with Director SS Rajamouli’s is facing a delay for the release, is it true?
Yes the movie will be delayed till the end of this month. It is a special effects thriller and our team underestimated the amount of time for the computer graphics.
Could you give us a glimpse of the movie, please?
Sure, Naan Ee is a love story beyond life and death. The hero avenges his death by reincarnating as a house fly. The rest of the story continues at a theatre near you. Haha
Haha, Samantha will you be taking up Bollywood movies more often. Now that you are part of a Mani Ratnam movie?
A Bollywood debut is not a priority. Right now I am happy here, I am a south Indian, born and brought up in Chennai. I think this industry suits me good. I would say I am lucky that I’m working with the biggest directors so early.
Which projects excite you the most right now?
Well every project is exciting for me, of course Gautham Menon’s trilingual Neethanae En Ponvasantham. I think I already like this film more than Ye Maya Chesave.
Wow, how has the experience been, the first look trailers with Ilayaraja sir and the 108 piece orchestra performing, has people crazy on Youtube these days?
It is a superb experience to watch an orchestra. In my life I never enjoyed a song shooting so much before thanks to Ilayaraja Sir. He is a maestro in every sense and it is pure magic to see him at his best.
Wow, your gleeful smile says it all; it surely has got all of us excited for the music release too. Our best wishes for your upcoming movies, we hope great tunes will keep you good company for many more years to follow, thank you for your time.
