Hearty congratulations for turning director Prakash Sir. We know it is just the beginning.
To direct is definitely a very important journey for me. I am blessed to have the opportunity to produce good, meaningful movies. Of course, producing, directing and acting in Dhoni has been a real treat for me. However, acting isn’t a priority on my list these days as it used to be. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed directing the film and it was quite a ride I must say.
Sounds good, so Prakash Sir, we would like to know the story behind the making of this movie.
I really wanted to do a movie like this for a long time. It all comes from what I experienced in my personal life. For me it was a situation at my home that I wanted to bring into the forefront. The movie is a mere reflection of the same. You know, my daughter is currently studying in grade XI and I could see her welling with pressure since the day she stepped into class 8. Even my nephew was under the same circumstance. I started out with choosing the title keeping in view cricketer MSD’s status as an icon. Dhoni is about a middle-class father who wants to give his son the best education possible. It speaks in volumes about our education system.
Before directing the movie did you have something really specific in mind?
I chose a sensible story, which I suppose a lot of us will be able to relate to. Everyone at some point or the other must have gone through a lot of hurdles with our studies during childhood. I have tried to bring alive some of those moments in Dhoni. I hope everyone can relate to the theme.
Well we certainly had a flashback, as we really recollected some memories of our school days. Recently you updated your twitter account thanking your crew it surely has been great team effort isn’t it.
Of course! as is the case of any god movie, only a great team can pull off something like this, combine that with music by Ilairaaja sir, what more can you ask for. I am happy that our efforts have been recognized.
Awesome, we really loved the movie sir, would you like to say something to your fans.
I am moved by the warmth in every appreciation. Thank you all. Thank you my team. Another journey begins .I believe that any film, which is sensible and honest will strike a chord with people.
Thanks a lot, sir.
