Zack Snyder has revealed that Warner Bros. has plans to develop a Wonder Woman sequel. Anticipation is sky high for director Patty Jenkins’ DC Extended Universe installment, which many are hoping will rejuvenate the franchise after a trio of divisive films.
Following an early screening of the movie, positive reactions started to pop up on social media, and the box office projections indicate it will be a sizable commercial hit due to the character’s popularity and fan demand to see Diana Prince on the big screen. If things go as well as people hope, talk of a followup will be inevitable.
There’s no word yet on when Wonder Woman 2 could make its way to theaters, as it just adds another wrinkle to the DCEU. WB has several DC films in various stages of development, including Joss Whedon’s Batgirl and David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens. Depending on how things shake out, the Wonder Woman sequel could be put on the fast track or come out a few years from now.
Hopefully soon WB iron outs their line-up (maybe at San Diego Comic-Con 2017), since a lot has changed since they made their initial announcements back in 2014.
