Those responsible for the original hacking of HBO, which saw 1.5 terabytes of data stolen including Game of Thrones scripts and personal employee data, have now apparently released even more information. It seems, they’ve received login credentials for a number of HBO’s social media, including the official HBO, Game of Thrones and Westworld accounts on Twitter.
The group who call themselves the ‘Mr. Smith group’ also claim to ‘have access to many HBO Platforms already’, and have threatened to release the season seven finale ahead of its air date. The hackers are reportedly demanding around $6.5 million in Bitcoin from HBO in exchange for the information not to be leaked.
This threat follows a number of leaks over this current season of Game of Thrones, with HBO Spain accidentally leaking the sixth episode and four people recently being arrested in India over the fourth episode leak.
