Deadpool turned out to be a huge commercial success around the world, and hence, it’s almost impossible for the sequel to fail. Deadpool 2 is well into pre-production as it eyes a January 2018 release date with some fresh changes on the horizon for the foul-mouthed, wise-cracking vigilante.
The real eye-catcher among the newcomers for Deadpool 2 is X-Men favorite Cable, a role that has yet to be cast. Zazie Beetz just joined as Domino, once an ally of Cable. However, the sequel is not done adding new faces to the cast.
During a recent interview, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were quizzed about the challenges in making Deadpool 2 and sequels in general. Reese also hinted at the introduction of more obscure characters from the comics – something that will obviously get dedicated fans excited for the sequel. He said, “there are definitely some more obscure characters that people know or that real diehards know that will be in there just by virtue of we need a new villain, and we need some new good guys.” It seems, all this will add to the lunacy of the film.
The Deadpool sequel will hit the screens on January 12, 2018.
