Telugu superstar Nagarjuna doesn’t have the habit of speaking out his mind quite often. The soft-spoken Nagarjuna, who has been around for more than two decades now as a frontline hero, has poured his heart out in a recent interview on the various rumours floating in Tollywood about him and his son Naga Chaitanya.
Looking fit as a fiddle despite entering the fifties, Nagarjuna is giving a run for their money for the younger lot of heroes by churning out hit films at regular intervals. Readers might recall that Nagarjuna, son of Telugu superstar Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who was married already, married actress Amala many years back after falling in love with her. Amala has been away from films for a long time now and concentrates in looking after uncared for animals.
Nagarjuna has come down hard on those spreading all kinds of false rumours about his family. “At first, the media painted the town red by ‘linking’ me with Anushka. Then the media went out of its way to find out something ‘odd’ about my relationship, which was nothing but a deep bond of friendship, between me and Bollywood actress Tabu. I didn’t give much thought about those rumours.
“Now, they are linking my son with Anushka. There has to be a limit to the imagination of those who created rumours of these sorts! I find this very ugly and awkward. I have always hated gossips though I hadn’t reacted to them many times in the past. These rumours hurt not only me, my son and my family but also Anushka, who is heading towards the top in Telugu films,” says Nagarjuna, anger writ large on his face.
Isn’t it high time that the press spared him and his son?
