Actress Vimala Raman today stunned actor Ajith by turning down his offer to play the second heroine in his dream project ‘Billa-2’. The actor, who recently wrapped up the shooting of his landmark 50th film ‘Mankatha’, has got back in shape after shedding the flab he had consciously put on for one of the roles in ‘Mankatha’.
Huma Qureshi, a popular Mumbai model, will be debuting as Ajith’s heroine in ‘Billa-2’. Unlike the usual sequel films, the sequel ‘Billa-2’ is not going to continue from where ‘Billa’ ended but instead would trace the origin of the emergence of Billa who went on to become a dreaded don after born and brought up in a very humble background.
The sequel is directed by Chakri Taloti, who made Kamal’s ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ a couple of years back. The mega-project is likely to be produced at a cost of Rs.35 crores. The shooting kicked off in Hyderabad some time back. Vimala Raman, who is quite popular in Tamil and Telugu films, was roped in as the second heroine.
It now turns out that Vimala had expressed her ‘inability’ to play second fiddle to a newcomer and has opted out of the film after informing the crew about her decision to quit the film. Vimala, who has finally got a chance to star in a Hindi film, has dreams of making it big in Bollywood and apparently feels that at this juncture, she shouldn’t be taking on any ‘insignificant’ role(s).
Commenting on her decision to walk out of Ajith’s film, Vimala says “I’m quite busy with my Telugu assignments and have also signed up a Hindi film. I’m open to Tamil film offers provided the script offered to me is good. In Billa-2, the character I was to play wasn’t a significant one and I couldn’t allot dates to star in the film!”
We only hope she doesn’t regret her decision later!
