Actor-turned-politician and DMDK chief Vijayakanth is all set to introduce his younger son Shanmugapandiyan as hero in Tamil films. In order to ensure that his son’s entry in Tamil films turns out to be as grand an affair as possible, Vijayakanth has reportedly acquired the Tamil remake rights of the super-hit Telugu film Brindavanam which starred Jr. NTR in the lead role.
The Tollywood producer who had produced Brindavanam reportedly didn’t relent and refused to part with the remake rights of the film when the likes of Vijay and other frontline heroes approached him. He, however, agreed to sell the remake rights of the film to Vijayakanth for an unspecified ‘huge’ sum. Vijayakanth had earlier announced that his younger son and not the elder son would be debuting as hero in Tamil films.
The film, which is as yet untitled, would be produced by Vijayakanth’s Captain Cine Creations run by his brother-in-law Sudeesh. The young gun Shanmugapandiyan would get to romance as many as two heroines in his very first film. A massive hunt has been launched by the aides of ‘captain’ to ‘catch hold’ of two prominent and young heroines to pair up opposite his son.
Vijayakanth is only too happy to have acquired the Tamil remake rights of Brindavanam in the face of stiff competition from other leading heroes in Tamil.
