Unconfirmed reports emanating from those close to director Venkat Prabhu say that the director is all set to make a film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead. Venkat Prabhu has, of late, been finding the going tough in Kollywood not career-wise but on a personal front.
His latest directorial venture was actor Ajith’s landmark 50th film Mankatha, which is still running successfully after completing 50 days at the box-office. The problem occurred when Venkat’s friend and one of Mankatha’s stars Vaibhav hosted a party at to celebrate the success of the film. Sona, the sexy actress, complained that playback singer-turned-producer SPB Charan attempted to molest her at the party in full view of the onlookers.
Venkat Prabhu and many others, who were present at the party, tried to pacify the actress and requested her to withdraw her complaint against Charan. The actress, who ultimately took back the complaint, went off to an unspecified location abroad to seek ‘peace of mind’.
Venkat is now reportedly on the verge of signing up Kamal Haasan to play the lead role in his upcoming film touted as a hilarious comedy. On more than one occasion, Kamal had expressed his desire to work with the younger breed of upcoming and successful directors. It is also said that Venkat went and met Kamal to discuss the film on an invitation from the latter.
Venkat’s film with Kamal Haasan might be started after he finishes his yet-to-be announced film with Suriya or Karthi in the lead.
