It is reported that Ajith has told Venkat Prabhu, his friend and director of Mankatha , to make a film starring him in the ensuing year.
Ajith’s Deepavali release Arrambam is rocking screens across the State and even in foreign countries with its collections at the box-office. Ajith, who has already nearing completion of shoot for his upcoming film Veeram by Siva, is slated for a ‘summit clash’ at the box-office in January next year as Vijay’s Jilla is also scheduled to release in theatres on the same day.
Venkat Prabhu takes the credit for Ajith’s now-famous ‘salt-and-pepper’ look as he made Ajith star in that look for the first time in his Mankatha. The film’s success apparently gave Ajith the confidence to repeat the get-up in his successive films so much so that actress Khushboo has described Ajith as India’s George Clooney.
Ajith, who recently called Venkat Prabhu to come over to his residence and treated him to a sumptuous dinner, is said to have sounded the latter to prepare a suitable script for him so that their second film might go to the floors some time in the second half of next year. Ajith also assured Venkat that he would make a ‘guest appearance’ in the latter’s next film after Biriyani.
Venkat Prabhu is obviously surprised by Ajith’s unexpected dinner invite and the chance to direct another film to star him in the lead. Sources close to the director say that he has already started working on the script for the Ajith-starrer.
