It is strongly rumoured in Kollywood circles that comedian Vadivelu might align himself with the ruling AIADMK led by Amma. The ace comedian, who has been continually ignored by Kollywood ever since the change of guard in the State, has been seriously weighing the options of dumping DMK and aligning with the ruling party, which coasted to a landslide victory in the Assembly elections held in the State in April this year.
During the run up to the elections in April, Vadivelu campaigned vigorously for DMK and its allies but never once said anything critical about Amma. His target of attack was actor-turned-politician and DMDK chief Vijayakanth. Vadivelu’s expected entry into ADMK might coincide with the entry into the party of another Kollywood bigwig Ibrahim Ravuthar, a close friend of Vijayakanth.
The trio of Vijayakanth, Ibrahim and Vadivelu has a similarity: all of them are natives of Madurai and were once close friends. Both Ibrahim Ravuthara d Vadivelu fell out with Vijayakanth but unlike Vadivelu, Rauther didn’t say a single word against Vijayakanth and had been keeping quiet. Even before the Assembly elections, Vijayakantha and Vadivelu were at loggerheads with each other which provided Vadivelu an opportunity to take a dig at the former during the campaigning.
Vadivelu was upset with Vijayakanth getting close to Amma’s ADMK. Now that Vijayakanth appears to be moving away from the ruling party, Vadivelu is said to be thinking seriously about aligning with Amma’s party. The fact that Vadivelu’s campaigning wasn’t directed against Amma but only against Vijayakanth might be weighed by the AIADMK chief as and when the comedian makes an attempt to enter her party.
Would this be the dialogue Vadivelu throws out incase he joins the ADMK camp
