Taapsee Pannu, the latest storm from Punjab to have hit Kollywood, is on a high now that her debut film in Tamil ‘Aadukalam’ has been declared a ‘hit’ by trade sources. The film, directed by Vetrimaran and with Dhanush in a never-before seen commoner’s role, has been well received by the public and critics besides garnering rave reviews from the print and television media.
Taapsee’s performance, in particular, hasn’t gone unnoticed. The girl, in an alien land vis-à-vis the language, managed to deliver a stunning performance as Irin, the Anglo-Indian girl. Taapsee, however, finds herself on a slippery wicket in Tollywood where she is presently starring midway through a film which she committed herself to prior to starring in ‘Aadukalam’. The actress now has to face the wrath of Telugu Superstar Mohan Babu for her non-commitment.
Reportedly Taapsee had given call-sheets to shoot for a Telugu film, produced by Mohan Babu, featuring his elder son Vishnuvardhan Babu in the lead role, before committing Adukkalam. For some reasons, though, Taapsee was to fly to Mumbai, skipping the film’s shooting schedule. Mohan Babu who is known to be very ‘strict’ when it comes to maintaining the ‘timing’ of the actors/actresses for the shooting schedule has reportedly taken up the matter with the Telugu Film Producers’ Council.
