Now that Sonakshi Sinha has walked out of Kamal Haasan’s upcoming directorial venture ‘Viswaroopam’ citing reasons that her call-sheet dates are getting ‘wasted’, a debate has already started in Kollywood about who would be replacing her in the film.
Deepika Padukone, who has been signed up as Rajini’s heroine in his ‘Rana’, is also said to be a front-runner to play the role that was to be essayed by Sonakshi opposite Kamal Haasan in ‘Viswaroopam’. It is said that Kamal has already sounded Deepika and is waiting for a response from her.
Deepika, who shot for half-a-day with Rajini on 29th April before the latter fell ill, is gearing up to shoot for the film again amid reports that Rajini could be back in Chennai in two weeks’ time and might start shooting for the film soon. She is said to be literally ‘stumped’ by the offer to star opposite Kamal Haasan. Not many heroines are offered films opposite Kamal and Rajini, the doyens of the Tamil film industry.
Should Deepika say ‘yes’ to Kamal’s offer, she might have to lose out on some of her already committed Hindi film projects. At the same time, she can’t avoid the temptation of pairing up opposite Kamal and Rajini in back-to-back films. It may be recalled that Deepika wasn’t the original choice for ‘Rana’ and only stepped in as Rajini didn’t want to act opposite Sonakshi, the daughter of his close friend Shatrughan Sinha.
Will Deepika take up Kamal’s offer or not? Wait and watch!
