The simmering enmity between actors Simbu and Jiiva appears to be heading for a clash. As a result of the enmity between them for ‘hijacking’ his film, Simbu is said to have told Richa Gangopadhyaya, the heroine in his upcoming film Osthi, not to pair up opposite Jiiva in any film in future. It all started when Jiiva replaced Simbu in K.V. Anand’s ‘Ko’ which released early this year and turned out to be one of the most successful movies of the year. When the film was launched more than an year back, Anand approached Simbu to play the lead. Simbu walked out of the film citing some ‘misunderstanding’ and Jiiva walked in.
Simbu’s position became more untenable when Ko became a super-duper hit and was stated by many as an important film in Jiiva’s career. Jiiva, on his part, declared that Simbu was no more his friend.
Now a little birdie tells us that Simbu has reportedly ‘held back’ Richa, who has two plum projects in her kitty at present in Osthi with Simbu and Mayakkam Enna opposite Dhanush, to pair up against Jiiva in an upcoming film being directed by Ahmed.
Director Ahmed, who had earlier directed the Jai-Priya Anand starrer Vaamanan, is reported to have approached Richa to pair up opposite Jiiva in his upcoming film. Richa agreed to star in the film as Jiiva is one of the frontline actors and told Ahmed that she would intimate him later about the number of days she would be able to spare for the first schedule of the yet-to-be-titled film’s shooting.
A couple of days later, Ahmed got a call from Richa saying that she was opting out of the film. Ahmed was left peeved as he didn’t have any idea as to what forced Richa to change her heart. Unconfirmed reports say that Richa ‘s been influenced by Simbu, her Osthi co-star.
