Actor Siddharth is definitely a happy man. His latest film Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi (KSE) opposite Amala Paul has been doing very well. The film’s Telugu-dubbed version, Love Failure, has also been declared a super-hit. That Siddharth is also the producer of the film makes it a ‘double treat’ for him. Films (including dubbed version) releasing on the same day in more than one language don’t always end up on the winning side.
Readers might be aware of the fact that Siddharth made his debut as an actor in the Tamil film Boys directed by Shankar, who is known for his mega-budget and super-duper hit films. Siddharth was one of the four ‘boys’ in the film which also had actor Bharath and music director Thaman as the other two ‘boys’. Despite Shankar’s reputation, the film nose-dived at the box-office.
Sid, as he is referred to in Tollywood, later found a receptive audience in Telugu films where he made a name for himself as a saleable actor. He even ventured into Bollywood and starred in the super-hit Rang De Basanti, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Aamir Khan and Madhavan. His comeback attempt in Tamil in the form of last year’s 180 (Nootrenbadhu) didn’t do as well as he would have expected.
The genial actor, however, is said to be keeping a ‘safe distance’ from Tamil media-persons as they pepper him with questions about his ‘affairs’ and many unwanted things. Sid, who lives alone after the divorce from his wife, was said to be in a ‘live-in’ relationship with Shruti Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan. Now that they are no more a couple, Sid is often asked about his plans for a second marriage.
Meanwhile, he is said to be planning to make KSE in Hindi as well with he and Amala Paul playing the lead roles again.
