The very glamorous Shriya Saran has always been generous, helping out the misfortune and the needy. Shriya did open a Spa earlier serving the blind. She recently walked the ramp with many Bollywood celebs taking part in the ‘Save & Empower Girl Child’ campaign.
The event organized by Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital and a Charitable Trust was aimed at sending a strong message across, saying, “no one has the right to take away the life of children, especially the girl child. They are God’s own gifts.” Shriya who is yet to sign a Kollywood offer post Rajapataai, looked stunning in her designer look. She wore a Manish Malhotra dress, coupled with her shining necklace to receive the applause from the industry folks seated for the occasion. Actress Sushmita Sen and her adopted little daughter Alisah did walk the ramp with many others including Kajol, Neha Dhupia, Dipannita Sharma, singer Alka Yagnik, Mandira Bedi, Mini Mathur and many others. The proceeding for the show will go towards spreading more awareness in the society; especially in rural areas were cases of infanticide have been high. Minsara Kanavu heroine Kajol who was the chief guest at the event said “It is very important and essential to join the ‘Save Girl Child’ initiative. It is a nice cause and I am happy to be here.” Noble indeed Shriya.
