Sources say that the shooting of superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited ‘Rana’, a period flick directed by K.S. Ravikumar featuring Rajini in triple roles, is likely to commence from October. It may be recalled after a six-week long stay in Singapore for treatment of his kidneys and recuperation, Rajini returned to Chennai on the night of Wednesday (13th July) to a ceremonial welcome by his fans at the airport.
Rajini is likely to take complete rest till September as per doctors’ advice and might start shooting for ‘Rana’ from the first week of October onwards. Rajini is likely to hold an extensive discussion with Ravikumar soon to finalize the shooting schedule of the film. The October start has reportedly been been conveyed to the crew members (read Deepika Padukone, the heroine) and other technicians involved with the film.
The intervening time from now till end-September might be used up to further fine-tune the story, script and the dialogues of the film, it is further informed. As reported earlier, Rajini headed straightaway to his farmhouse at Kelambakkam from the airport on his arrival from Singapore. His Poes Garden residence is presently being renovated as per ‘Vaasthu’ recommendations and the work is said to be still going on.
The shooting might get delayed till October; but what’s soothing and encouraging for Rajini’s fans is the fact that their ‘Thalaivar’ has regained his full strength. Rajini must have felt emotional at the welcome accorded to him by his fans at the airport when he descended from Singapore clad in a simple dress with spectacles and some ‘white beard’ on. An announcement might soon be made intimating about Rajini’s meeting with his fans.
