The judgment in the divorce petition filed by choreographer Prabhudeva and his wife Ramalath is yet to be delivered even as the Court has deferred its next hearing by a couple of weeks due to the absence of both the parties in the Court. Just when it was thought that Prabhudeva had cleared all the hurdles paving way for his marriage to actress Nayantara, this has arisen.
It is said that the delay in judgment is mainly because Prabhudeva hasn’t yet transferred in Ramalath’s name the many properties he had assured would be given to her in order to make her agree to a mutual divorce. Rumour mills in Kollywood went overtime in cooking up reasons for the absence of both Prabhu and Ramalath in the Court two days ago.
It was Ramalath who first approached the Court late last year seeking its intervention in ‘rescuing’ Prabhudeva from the ‘clutches’ of actress Nayantara who was ‘conspiring’ to take Prabhu away from her. Afterwards, a deal was struck between Prabhu and Ramalath which was followed by the filing of separate divorce suits by them seeking ‘mutual seperation’.
Prabhu had reportedly assured to transfer in Ramalath and her children’s names the farmhouse he owned on Chennai’s ECR Road, the sprawling bungalow in Anna Nagar and a few apartments in Hyderabad. He is also said to have told her that the registration of these properties would be completed by 30th June. Problem has erupted as the same hasn’t yet been done as on date.
Unless the registration of the properties in Ramalath and her children’s names is done by 10th July when the next hearing would be held, the case might get dragged in the Court.
