It was reported in some sections of the press the other day that actress Meena might just make a comeback to films. Meena, who debuted as a teenaged heroine in Tamil films in the early nineties, did enjoy an incredible spell of 18 years in the industry playing only the heroine’s roles or the most significant role in all her films.
A popular actress in almost all the South Indian languages, Meena has ruled out any comeback to films and says that she can’t just have ‘enough time’ to look after her ‘dear daughter’, which is the darling of the whole family now. “My only job is to look after all her needs and spend time with her; as such, the rumours that I would be coming back to films are not true,” she clarifies.
Known for her beautiful eyes and a good, husky voice, Meena married Vidyasagar, a professional engineer, in 2009 and gave birth to a pretty daughter last year. The child was named Nainika by Meena’s family. The rumours of Meena’s ‘comeback’ said that Meena would be playing the mother-in-law of Ram Charan Teja (son of megastar Chiranjeevi) in an upcoming Telugu film.
Meena said she was shocked at how these ‘stories’ get cooked. “I have no intention of coming back to films as I have been leading a happy life with my daughter and my husband. For the time being, leave me alone,” said Meena.
