The burly actor justified his decision saying that the party has ‘badly betrayed’ the interest of the Tamils in the Lankan issue.
As a sop to the electorate in the constituency where he would be contesting, Mansoor has announced that in case he won the election, he would provide ‘washing machines’ free-of-cost to all those who have voted for him by taking up the ‘case’ with the local government authorities.
In a statement issued to the press, Mansoor has said, “The Congress is an enemy of the Tamil community and the Tamilians. It’s my bounden duty to oppose the Congress candidates in any of the 63 constituencies from where the part is contesting.
“I’m sure people would express their solidarity with me; irrespective of which party forms the government after the elections, I’d strive to do my best in cooperation with the party and the government to do everything possible for the people living in my constituency. I don’t believe in false promises but would provide washing machine to all the households in the constituency if I get elected,” said Mansoor in the statement.
