For director Krish, it’s success revisited at the box-office. Following the resounding box-office success of his Telugu flick ‘Vedam’, he remade the film in Tamil and titled it as ‘Vaanam’. The film, starring Smbu, Bharath, Prakashraj, Anushka, Vega, Jasmine Bhasin, Sonia Aggarwal, Santhanam and Saranya Ponvannan, has now turned out to be a hit film with the masses as well as the classes.
Anushka reprised the same role she did in the Telugu version, winning accolades from the Tamil audience.
Krish has now launched another Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, which would be shot simultaneously in two languages. No prizes for guessing as to who would the heroine: it’s none other than the lanky Anuskha again! With successive directorial hits in ‘Kamyam’ (dubbed into Tamil as Kaadhalnaa Summa Illai) and ‘Vedam’, Krish a.k.a. Radhakrishnan has cemented his place as a director to reckon within the world of Telugu films.
Krish, who is a very ‘close’ friend of Anushka, didn’t think about casting her in the role of a sex-worker in the Tamil and Telugu versions in ‘Vaanam’ and ‘Vedam’ respectively. Following the success of the film, Anushka didn’t waste much time either in giving call-sheet dates to Krish for his upcoming bilingual film. The hero of the film, however, remains to be chosen.
Krish has the trio of Suriya, Karthi and Simbu in his mind and might zero in on one of them as the hero opposite Anushka in both the languages.
Asked about what was the reason behind his ‘unlimited’ affection for Anushka, Krish smiles blankly and says it was nothing but ‘friendship’. We believe he says nothing but the truth!
