She didn’t look like an actress making her debut at all. Kavitha Nair, who debuted as heroine in Kollywood with the recent film Mudhal Idam opposite Vidharth of Mynaa fame, gave a very good account of herself as an actress of substance.
Produced after a long gap by AVM Productions, one of the country’s oldest surviving production houses, Mudhal Idam has been doing reasonably well. Kavitha is mighty excited at the compliments she has been getting that her looks resemble that of veteran actress Saroja Devi, who has starred in many Tamil films including Suriya’s Aadhavan.
Kavitha is just the latest addition to the list of heroines who continue to emerge from the neighbouring Kerala. The actress, who had been staying in Mumbai for the past many years, has recently shifted her base to Chennai apparently with an aim to make it big in Kollywood as an actress who can carry off any kind of roles.
Said to be flooded with so many Tamil and Malayalam film offers, Kavitha has dropped the ‘Nair’ surname from her name and says she would like to be simply known as Kavitha. “I’m quite happy about being compared to Sarjoa Devi Madam. I feel proud about it. I have also dropped ‘Nair’ from my name and would like to be known just as Kavitha,” says the actress.
That’s a very good beginning, isn’t it?
